Timothy D. Riggs | President

In 1989 Tim became licensed to offer insurance and began selling group health, life, disability and defined contribution plans to businesses in Western Pennsylvania. He affiliated with Lincoln National, Principal Life Insurance Company and many other companies. The approach was to start his own firm where he could become  objective in offering the high qualifty products for each business owner and his or her employees. Working for only one company is not seen as strength by Riggs. It is by working with many companies, and then comparing the unique features and benefits that brings the customer the value and expertise needed to succeed. This leads to price comparisons which can often times lower premiums and service fees.

Today, Tim Riggs services various retirement plans with approximately $40 million in assets. The employee benefits serviced by Riggs Financial has in excess of fifty businesses which depend upon Riggs for guidance, employee education and brokerage.

We strive to offer every product which can bring value to our client base. Escalating costs associated with employee benefits can be controlled with negotiation and comparative information properly presented.  Our mission is to bring value to our clients through cost negotiation, product differentiation, education and employee presentations designed to promote loyalty. One example of bringing added value to our customer base is with an incredible reporting tool offered through Bank of New York, Albridge Wealth Reporting.  This tool can show every single transaction, show rates of return and then compares it to the appropriate index.  Individual investors can develop a greater knowledge of their portfolio’s potential by using this tool.

Riggs Financial Inc was founded by its President Timothy D. Riggs. In 1981 Tim received his Bachelor of Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Arts from University of Louisiana in 1983.  Riggs began his career as an instructor and coach at Allegheny College in 1983. While at Allegheny College he was awarded the NCAA Diving Coach of the Year in 1989, 1992 and 1993.  It was during this period that Riggs was preparing his business plan for serving the business community with financial products and education.

Marcia L. Riggs

Marcia L. Riggs is the accountant at Riggs Financial Inc. Her expertise in spreadsheet management helps simplify the product selection process. Presentations preparation and payroll management are also her responsibilities. Claim resolutions and follow up are also part of her expertise.

Marcia graduated from Northeast Lousiana University in 1983. She has been very active with the youth in our community by coaching high school diving for 20 plus years at Meadville High School. She is married to Tim Riggs and has two daughters, Teagan and Kaylee.

Rachel Shaddinger

University of Pittsburgh Graduate, Bachelor of Arts. Her duties are client information management, spreadsheet management and customer service.
